📜 MAVI Privacy Policy

Short version: MAVI was built privacy-first. Your car data lives on your phone. We have no servers that collect it, no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs. The only data that leaves your phone is (1) the AI chat messages you send to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key, and (2) what Apple handles for purchases.
1. What we collect
Nothing. MAVI does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our side. We operate no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking technology of any kind. The app contains zero third-party SDKs.
2. What stays on your device
- Vehicle telemetry from your OBD adapter (speed, RPM, temperatures, battery state, fuel, trouble codes)
- Trip history, fill-up history, and service records
- Photos, receipts, CARFAX and purchase documents you add to the Garage Vault
- Your chat history and your vehicle profile
- Your AI API key (stored only in the iOS Keychain — encrypted, never synced to iCloud, erased with the app)
All of this is stored locally on your device. You can export it at any time (Settings → Data & History → Export entire history) or delete it (Settings → Erase All My Data).
3. What leaves your device (and where it goes)
- AI chat & voice: when you ask MAVI a question, your message and a brief snapshot of current vehicle data (speed, battery, fuel, temperatures) are sent to the AI provider you configured, using your own API key (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, MiMo, OpenRouter, or a local Ollama server you run). That provider processes it under their privacy policy. MAVI never sends this data to GHB Ventures.
- Apple: purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us only anonymized sales reporting.
- Apple MapKit: map images and route calculations use Apple's map service, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Your own server (optional): if you enable "Mirror to Tron", your data is sent to a server you configured and control. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
4. Location
MAVI uses your phone's location on-device to show your position, log trips, and give turn-by-turn directions. Location is never transmitted to GHB Ventures. Map rendering uses Apple's MapKit (see above). You can deny location permission and MAVI's core OBD features still work.
5. Children
MAVI is not directed at children under 13, and purchases require you to confirm you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone — of any age.
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and everyone else)
- Access & portability: Settings → Data & History → Export entire history (a complete JSON bundle).
- Deletion: Settings → Erase All My Data wipes everything MAVI stores on your device instantly. Because we hold no data on our side, there is nothing else to delete.
- Questions or requests: email support@ghbventures.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Your API key is held in the iOS Keychain with hardware-backed encryption. AI traffic uses HTTPS. We cannot access your device data, and your data is protected by iOS device encryption.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
